A Fresnel fixture includes a spherical reflector mounted behind the lamp, and one 'Fresnel' style lens. The fixture design allows the reflector and lamp to move back and forth together inside the unit, providing a variable-size beam from spot/narrow to flood/wide. The beam edge is always soft because the inner lens surface has a pebbled surface. Fresnels are specified by lens diameter, wattage, or model such as 6", 8", 1k, 2k, inky (3 1/2"), baby, deuce (2kW), 5k and 10k.
